The International Association of Jesuit Universities (IAJU) held a board meeting at the General Curia in Rome from 2 to 4 March. The meeting brought together representatives from Regional Associations, Task Forces, the associations of Engineering Schools and Business Schools, Alpha Sigma Nu and the group representing the International Offices.
On the second day of the meeting, the Superior General Arturo Sosa addressed the group. He touched a number of topics such as the complexity of the current times, the critical importance of collaboration, and the centrality of the identity of the Jesuit mission of justice and reconciliation to which the Society of Jesus is dedicated. This led to a lively exchange of ideas among the participants.

In preparation for the next Congregation of Procurators, the Superior General also invited the group to reflect on the response that their institutions have given to the promptings of the Holy Spirit in the field of higher education. He also invited the participants to discern in which direction the Holy Spirit is calling us today.
The meeting was an important part of the process of elaborating the strategic guidelines for the IAJU for the coming years, after the Boston College Conference held last August.
IAJU is an association of Jesuit Catholic universities and institutes of higher education. Founded in 2018 and approved by the Superior General of the Society of Jesus, Arturo Sosa, the IAJU is recognized as the international advisory and coordinating body to the Secretariat for Jesuit Higher Education and, through it, to Father General and his Assistants in matters related to higher education and the intellectual apostolate.
